While I'm not a huge fan of Jeanette, I do however think she was wronged. Think about it. She genuinely did not see Kate. Mallory did though. Kate saw Mallory and thought it was Jeanette. Which is why Jeanette became so hated. I'm not saying Kate is an angel either. She went to Martins house on her own free will. I do feel bad for her but not as much as I did before.
All I have to say on this episode is:
Definitely one of the more intriguing and suspenseful episodes in the show so far, I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen
Also 100% the most nauseating one, what with Kate and Martin's relationship, and the ending....ugh
Omg that ending! It’s the first time in years I couldn’t sleep because of how a show ended. I’m really interested in peoples’ theories and what season two might bring.
It's official! Cruel Summer has been renewed for a second season by Freeform!
The season renewal comes ahead of the season finale tonight, which is expected to wrap up the plotlines of Kate and Jeanette. While the series has scored a second season, production and Freeform executives are unsure if the writers of the series will bring back the first season's cast/group or start over with a new group. It will most likely continue in the alternating points of view in non-linear storytelling, but there has yet to be a confirmation on that.
The first season averaged about 6.8 million viewers per episode in MP35. It was also the number one engaged new scripted cable series on television for 2021! Freeform president Tana Duncan described the renewal as, "an easy decision. It’s the biggest series debut in Freeform’s history, and the audience response has been overwhelmingly positive."

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE EIGHT BELOW.
Episode 8, Proof aired last night and left us with a TON of questions! From perspective into Jeanette and Mallory's relationship to Jamie having a bit of a backstory, it was pretty heavy stuff.
The episode was full of emotions and twists and left me wondering why Jeanette keeps lying if she really has nothing to hide.
What is so important about the snowglobe?
Do you think Mallory had something to do with what happened to Kate? Assuming the voicemail was from Kate.
Did this episode change your mind on Jamie?
What was your favorite part?
Keep it cordial and share your theories below!
SPOILERS FOR EPISODE SEVEN BELOW.
Episode 7, Happy Birthday, Kate Wallis aired last night and gave just as many answers as it did questions! From perspective into Kate's relationships with everyone to Derek's surprising discovery, there's a lot to unpack!
The episode was full of emotions and twists, that it quickly became a personal favorite of the season.
Do you think Kate going to Martin's house changes anything?
Who IS Annabelle?
Did this episode change your mind on Mallory?
What was your favorite part?
Keep it cordial and share your theories below!
Okay, I know there's only 6 episodes right now, but this show is my favorite, and I have some things I figured I'd share:
1- I have to say that I don't know who I believe. Kate could be right, but maybe Jeanette saw her and didn't realize what was happening. Or Jeanette could be right, but Kate was just trying to cope with her trauma. I don't really know.
2- ANYONE ELSE ABSOLUTELY LOVE BEN AND VINCE???? THEY'RE SO ADORABLE I LITERALLY CANNOT AAAAAAAA
3- Mallory annoys the frick out of me. I think she's a judgy and bossy person who hates it when she doesn't get her way, and I find her honestly kind of toxic.
4- I like Jeanette better than Kate as a character, because Jeanette seems more open to the situation, while Kate is stubborn and refuses to admit anything she says is wrong. Not that Kate's horrible, but...you know.
And that's all! They were just a few thoughts lol.

My bad. "Who's" should be "Whose".🤦🏾♂️
According to Deadline, “Cruel Summer” scored Freeform’s most-watched series debut ever, averaging 3.81 million multiplatform viewers in the first week available. Additionally, the series from studio Entertainment One (eOne) is the No. 1 most social scripted series premiere across cable year-to-date!
This means the show has done better then other Freeform premiere in history, notably since its transition from ABC Family to Freeform! The previous title was held by Shadowhunters, though Cruel Summer topped its premiere by +22%!
With these incredible numbers, its difficult to see how Freeform couldn't renew the series!
