Notes and Trivia[]

  • A book on Megan's end table is titled, "Out of the Basement: The Kate Wallis Story". Kate Wallis and her story was the focus of the first season.
  • In an interview breaking down the season finale, Elle Triedman revealed that the decision to have Isabella be the one who killed Luke was something they came to early on. While they considered other suspects, which included Debbie and Brent, it made more sense for Isabella to kill Luke as a culmination of her possessive friendship with Megan.[3]
    • At the time of the interview, Triedman wasn't sure what a potential Season 3 would look like, especially given the ongoing WGA strike.
    • In a separate interview, Triedman confirmed that Isabella didn't go to the dock to kill Luke. She went to talk to him and warn him not to ruin Megan's life by keeping her in Chatham. Isabella also didn't believe there was room for the two of them in Megan's life. Her decision to kill him was a "decision in a moment, but it was not a premeditated killing."[4]
    • Triedman believed that Megan took the footage straight to Sheriff Myer to exonerate Brent, though they purposefully left what Megan chooses to do up to viewer to decide.[4]
