Jessica Claire Timberlake is an American actress, model, producer, and singer. She currently executive produces the hit series Cruel Summer through her production company Iron Oceans Production.

Biography

Career

Biel began her career as a vocalist appearing in musical productions until she was cast as Mary Camden in the family drama series 7th Heaven (1996–2006), in which she achieved recognition.

In 1997, she won the Young Artist Award for her role in the drama film Ulee's Gold. She received further recognition for her lead role as Erin Hardesty in the horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). Biel has since starred in such films as The Rules of Attraction (2002), Blade: Trinity (2004), Stealth (2005), The Illusionist (2006), I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007), Valentine's Day (2010), The A-Team (2010), New Year's Eve (2011), Total Recall (2012), and Hitchcock (2012).

In 2017, she was the executive producer and star of the USA Network limited drama series The Sinner, for which she received nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. She is now the executive producer of Cruel Summer.

Iron Oceans Productions

Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple formed Iron Ocean Productions with the mission to create original content and a platform that enhances strong female voices. Currently, the production company has USA’s limited TV series “The Sinner,” which has enjoyed three seasons resulting in multiple awards nominations. In 2020, the series was renewed for a fourth season with the network, which is expected to go into production this spring. Season one garnered Biel Emmy®, Golden Globe® and Critic’s Choice award nominations for best actress and nominations for both Purple and Biel as series executive producers, with Bill Pullman nominated for a SAG award for his performance in season two.

In 2020, the production company inked a two-year first-look deal with Paramount Television Studios. The deal covers scripted television projects. Prior to this, the shingle had Facebook Watch’s “Limetown” in which Biel starred opposite Stanley Tucci. The show premiered in Fall 2019 to over 10 million viewers in the first 72 hours.

Up next, Iron Ocean has Freeform’s unconventional ‘90s thriller “Cruel Summer,” taking place over three summers when a girl with a charmed life goes missing, and a nerdy wannabe transforms from an awkward outlier to a queen bee, and then, the most despised person in America.
