The 1993 Summer bucket list is a list of activities that Jeanette Turner, Vince Fuller, and Mallory Higgins swore to do by the end of Summer, 1993. The list varied from small trips to breaking and entering, with each one becoming more daring. The list was there way of staying close to one another during the holiday, and was taken seriously be each of them.

History[]

On June 21st, the friends went to the mall to celebrate Jeanette's fifteenth birthday. While in the elevator they came up with the idea write a list of activities they must complete before the end of the Summer. Mallory wanted to add something illegal to the list while Jeanette was more hesitant. However, Mallory convinced her that it wouldn't be anything too serious but pushing their limits was part of the list.

On June 22nd, they crossed the first item of their list - break into an abandoned house to play hide and seek. They stole a key from Skylin Realty, a business that Jeanette's father owned, and biked to 325 Huntington Road. Jeanette was picked to count and ventured to the basement in search of her friends. When she emerged upstairs, she was startled by the homeowner Martin Harris, who had decided to move in a day early. He told her that he was the new Assistant Principal of Skylin High. She distracted him long enough for her friends, who hid in the shower, to sneak out.[1]

On July 4th, Mallory showed Jeanette and Vince some marijuana she stole from her moms stash. She referenced item number nine on their list - swipe contraband from their home. Vince showed some wine he swiped from his parent’s house and Jeanette stole her brother’s dirty magazines. Vince asked if Mallory's ever smoked before but she hadn't, though she got a contact high before. She asked if Vince had but he hadn't either, nor had Jeanette. They don’t want to do it as it’s wrong, though Mallory claimed the list was full of bad things which was the point. Jeanette flushed the weed to protect Mallory from herself, which enraged Mallory as she felt Jeanette didn't take the list seriously.

To prove she took it seriously, Jeanette broke into 325 Huntington Road once again to steal Martin Harris's old year book. She then apologized to Mallory for the joints and showed her list number 13 - steal something. She gave Mallory Martin Harris’s old yearbook, which shocked Mallory. Jeanette remarked that she does take the list seriously and apologized.[2]

On August 15th, the trio sought to cross another item off the list - number 13. Vince wanted to skip to number 14, sneak into a scary movie, as he wanted to see Freddie Goes To Hell. The girls weren't in agreement over the movie, and Mallory pointed out that they had to do the list in order. Since 13 comes before 14 they should do that one. Vince planned to steal a CD while Mallory decided to shoplift clothes from the mall. Mallory had a device her mother owned from her brief interlude as a sales associate. She used the device to remove the security tags from the clothing so the alarm wouldn't be triggered. When the girls met up with Vince outside the record store, his CD tripped the security alarm and he was called out to by cops. To protect Vince, Jeanette grabbed the CD and told Vince to run. He fled after Mallory who had already begun running. She was released from "mall jail" later that day into the custody of her father.[3]
